Finances

Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover is a clear and direct plan to get out of debt and stay out. His radically logical approach is to cut out all borrowing and consumer debt in 7 Baby Steps. His straight-shooting, no-nonsense style takes some getting used to, but his plan is solid. He also has "endorsed local providers" (ELPs) that offer good services at decent prices.

Books, Books, Books

Library: Your local library often carries books that you may want to read or skim through just once. Libraries can also provide genealogical research tools at little or no cost.

PaperbackSwap is a fun way to get like-new books for only the cost of shipping by media mail, about $3. I like using this when a book is unavailable at the library, and to acquire my favorite titles that I repeatedly borrow.

Free Online Math & Science Tutoring

This is an awesome non-profit site that teaches math/science better than the paid program we used at a public school, and it is FREE!  I was stunned to find this product is a non-profit that allows anyone to study and practice math (and science) from elementary addition through trigonometry. The interface is very user friendly as well:

Rechargeable Batteries

This site has the clearest review on batteries that I've seen to date. He also continues updating it as he obtains new data:
